Welcome to Swish-and-Flick, or as we long-time denizens know it, SnF. Thanks for stopping in! We're proud and happy to have you here at one of the longest-running Harry Potter RPGs on the web, going strong since 2003. Here at Swish-and-Flick our mission statement has always been the same, bringing you high-quality canon roleplay for the wonderful world created by J.K. Rowling. We are friendly, glad to have any and all newcomers, and always ready to have a good time. Stick around, even if it's just to chat; we'd love to have you around. 
What You Can Expect
At Swish-and-Flick we maintain a high-level of roleplay quality. We have seen so many different labels put on so many different levels of sites that we hesitate to name ourselves "intermediate" or "advanced," so instead we prefer to state exactly what we are about. We are not about ten-page long posts where every other word is one you have to get a dictionary to read, but we are about strong, creative writing where quality counts. We are not about giving canon characters cigarettes and martini glasses and calling them nouveau HP, but we are about incorporating original, fascinating ideas while still maintaining the charm of the canon works. And last but not least, we are not about playing damsels in distress needing emotional saving, or playing gorgeous characters who are the best at everything, or overloading the boards with overdone clichés; we are about challenging ourselves as writers and roleplayers... and keepin' it real dawg cuz it's all about fun.

We are currently set after the seventh and final Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and as such we do not recommend visiting the RP boards if you haven't finished the book. If you have finished the series and you are ready to embark on what the new world of Harry Potter has to offer, you need only register with an account and away you go!

SnF was created over three years ago by founders Soup, Lucy, Kamikaze, and Bobbin, two of whom still remain as staff members and three of whom still RP at the site today. Since we began we have have always written the most recent unreleased 'book' of the Harry Potter series. We have RPed Harry's sixth and seventh years multiple times, and we are incredibly excited to embark upon an entirely new era of stories set after Deathly Hallows with brand new tales woven out of the fabric of Jo's original works.

So who is it that actually runs this place? The current team consists of Lucy, Kamikaze, and Em, and despite the rumors we don't really eat new members for dinner (stringy, you see). So to quell the rumors, we though we would introduce ourselves. Get to know us a little better!

Images of the world of Harry Potter are probably promotional images distributed by Warner Brothers for the Harry Potter films, to whom we have devoted a large portion of our paychecks. The photos were probably found through the fantastic Harry Potter fan and information site, Veritaserum, to whom we owe our first born child-site. We have also used stock images from sxc.hu, to whom we have promised our first sorcerer's stone when we figure out Flamel's formula. (Confusing git.) Sxc.hu artists to whom we owe dragon eggs are Fuzzypeg and smoro. Quills we've used in the various layouts are Verdana, Baskerville Old Face, Aquiline, Eurostile, Silkscreen, and Fountain Pen Frenzy. Brushes we have used come from artists such as Miss M, e c h o i c a, Trisste, and Vered.
